18-year-old high School senior & WR Devonte Woods who recently moved to K C,, KS meets 18-year-old junior cheerleader Katie.

I wasn't surprised when my parents supported us. My mom suggested that I meet with a gynecologist and look at getting on birth control. She felt that it was better to be safe than sorry. I agreed with her that while I don't anticipate losing my virginity soon, it's best to be protected. I also agreed to use condoms.

Over the next week, I went to see a gynecologist and they put me on a non-hormonal but very effective form of birth control. I could sense that Devonte was close to asking me out. When I told my parents that I was invited to a barbecue at Devonte's, they were very supportive. They asked me to invite him over one night for dinner.

When I was over at Devonte's, his cousin Samantha asked me if we were officially dating. I told her not at this point. When his aunt and uncle asked if we were dating, he told them we're not official quite yet.

The next days, both the football team and the cheerleading squad had meetings and brief practices. Since school is starting in 2.25 weeks, daily practices would begin on Monday. We had brief workouts and then we planned a menu for the meal that we were going to make for my parents
and my 4 older siblings when my parents arrive home the next day.

The next morning, we spend a few hours working out. We then had to the grocery store to grab some steaks, shrimp, pasta, veggies, other things needed for our late lunch. We put everything in the fridge and the groceries away. He asked me to sit down. He finally asked me to be his girlfriend and I accepted.

My two sisters and my two brothers called to confirm what time everything was happening. We started making the late lunch. My parents as well as my siblings arrived home was about 15 minutes left of our cooking. They enjoyed meeting Devonte officially. Everybody was commenting about the chemistry we had together. My siblings helped clean up while my parents were heading out to a wedding.
